A COMMUNITY FOR ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Welcome New York to The Art of Photography! Our purpose is to spark creativity, open new doors, incite discussion and learn from each other in a positive and sharing environment. The basis of which is to facilitate the merging of the principles of art and graphic design with excellent camera craft. To take each one of us, no matter what level of experience, to places, levels and worlds that are out of our comfort zone. To grow, to see, to inspire unique visions. Our critique programs, our photo shoots and our educational sessions are free. Your submissions for discussion are for you to choose without regard to theme or genre.
The Art of Photography began as a museum art school program in 2002 and has expanded to over 15,000 members worldwide. So many of whom have grown into exceptional photographers that are hugely represented in international award shows. New York, we are truly excited for your participation and look forward to your development as Artistic and Creative Photographers. Be on the lookout for some very exciting photo shoots and presentations that will be posted on an on-going basis. Also join our International Site to check out over 250 albums created by our members. Join us at the New York City Auto Show at the Javits Center for an exclusive photography event capturing the latest and most stunning vehicles in the industry. This is your chance to snap incredible shots of cutting-edge designs, classic cars, and concept models under the perfect lighting.

- There will be a myriad of photo opportunities available at the show, including several floors of new, classic, and modified vehicles to capture your interest.
- Think shallow Depth of Field, close-ups of cars and people looking at cars.
Directions/Parking/Tickets
Getting there: 8th Ave. A, C, or E trains; 7th Ave. 1, 2, or 3 trains; M34 or M42 shuttle bus.
Parking: Parking garages can be found on the surrounding streets near the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.Prohibited items: Large bags, backpacks, coolers, knives, and dangerous items are not allowed. Confiscated items will be handed over to the NYPD 10th Precinct.
- Allowed items: Small bags or purses.
- Security checks: Expect to pass through metal detectors, with guards stationed throughout the venue.

Meeting Location/Event Hosts
We’ll meet to the right of the entrances on the first floor. Your host and co-host will be Joseph and Doug. We will be the ones with the TAOP stickers and holding our cameras! Please try to arrive around 10:15 am to say hello and discuss the shoot.Post-Event
For those of you who would like to join us after the event, at approximately 12:15, we will meet on Level 1 in the Nibble & Graze food court. Food Halls - Javits CenterPHOTO CHALLENGE
Once this Meetup event ends, we will create an album on the Photos page. Please post up to five (5) of your best photographs from the event before 7 PM (ET) on Thursday, May 1st.Eligible photos:
- Must be taken on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at the Auto Show
- Must be posted before the deadline
- Must have a title
- Must NOT be sexually explicit or suggestive
This album will be reviewed. The winning image will become the permanent album cover of the event. The name of the winning photographer will appear in the album title.
We welcome your participation and look forward to meeting you around 10:15 am at the Javits Center.
