What we’re about

I started The Flemington Science Collective as a Facebook group after reading the responses to my prompt discussion in the unoffical town Facebook group:

"...where we can meet at a local cafe and discuss trends in the scientific community (AI, gene-editing, biotech, etc). Ideally, I would like to engage local scientists, engineers, teachers, and those with a passion for science with the goal of further engaging the community in public events, like a public science fair or a Q&A."

I started this Meetup group to increase visibility and engage even more people.

If you have a passion for science, this group may be for you! Come to our events, where we will casually socialize and share our backgrounds. Although we plan to organize live Q&A's with local scientists and industry professionals (on their own accord, not on behalf of the insitution they work for), you are not obligated to participate in the planning and execution of these events. However, your participation will be most welcome! The venues of such Q&A's will be free to the public and will be listed in the events after the planning is completed.

Joining this group offers the following benefits:

  • Socializing!
  • Knowledge sharing and learning about trending scientific news and breakthroughs
  • Learning about public engagement
  • Learning about strategy development and execution
  • Leadership development

There are no dues or fees associated with this group. The Flemington Science Collective is not affiliated with any business or organization.
