What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in hiking (most of our members are 50 years old and older). All skills levels are welcome. We started this group to meet other outdoor enthusiasts. Looking forward to exploring the outdoors with everybody.
PLEASE make sure you have a CLEAR PHOTO of yourself on your profile picture. This is REQUIRED so that you can easily be recognized.
Every weekend we offer hikes of varying degrees of difficulty. Hike are free for members (membership only $15) and $3 per hike for non-members. Sometimes we stop at a restaurant for supper after the hike.
"C" hikes are the easiest with minimal elevation and duration (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours). "B" hikes are more challenging in terms of elevation & duration (2 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours). "A" hikes are the most challenging (4 to 6 1/2 hours).
Hiking boots or sturdy footwear & a backpack are strongly recommended. Bring liquids and a trail lunch. Children are welcome. It's up to the hike leader if dogs are allowed.
Please give yourself plenty of time, to find us, since we only wait an extra 10 minutes, before starting an event, to be fair to everyone. You are responsible, for your own safety and we cannot be held liable.
The leader normally goes to the "meet" rather than the "carpool" site. People are expected to "self-assemble" and leave the "carpool" site to arrive at the "Meet" site on time.
All questions concerning a particular hike can and should be addressed with the leader for that hike.

- Hike Seth Low Pierrepont State ParkSeth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve, Ridgefield, CT
For those of us who are not doing family Easter events for the entire day of Easter, let's hike in the afternoon. We can keep the string of Sunday hikes going. Note: This hike starting time is 1:30 PM.
This will be a approximately 5 mile hike with elevation changes. Intended as a relatively lightweight Easter afternoon hike to get us moving. So easier and shorter relative to other hikes this group does. It's an afternoon hike.
Located in Ridgefield, CT, Seth Low Pierrepont State Park is a relatively small park, adjacent to the Bennetts/Windwig/Pine Mountain parks. The multiuse trails are primarily built and maintained by the local mountain biking group, in partnership with State land managers. Depending on foliage, there are great views to the horizon at times. Most of the park is up high.If you RSVP “YES” and can’t make it, PLEASE change your RSVP so that the next person on the waitlist can attend.
We do ask for a contribution of $3 per hike, or $15 per year, to cover meetup.com fees, which meetup raised significantly for 2025.IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE:
