What we’re about
*** This Meet Up isn’t exclusive to fans of Chris Williamson’s ‘Modern Wisdom’ podcast ~~~ https://www.youtube.com/@ChrisWillx ~~~ anyone’s welcome! I’ve just tied it to his show to give you a quick sense of the vibe you can expect. ***
Right now, I’m sat in a café alongside 35 strangers. On my 10 minute walk here, I passed a hundred people. Rush hour on the tube had me brushing shoulders with a thousand more. In a 5 mile radius of where I’m typing this, live over a million people.
Yet I don’t know any of them. And I don’t know how to know any of them. I don’t know if they have similar dreams. Similar struggles. Similar humour. Similar yearning to grow. Similar desire to lower the number of regrets we’re left with at the end of our lives.
Pondering time’s over. I decide to create a Meet Up group. However, I can’t meet everyone. There’s a specific type of person who I’d like to meet and connect with. And that’s people who want to learn, want to strive, want to improve and want to feel and simultaneously give motivation.
To put it more succinctly – I want to meet people who listen and resonate with Chris Williamson’s Modern Wisdom podcast.
This Meet Up is in no way affiliated with Chris but I feel if it’s something that ultimately helps people, he’d give his approval. At our events, we’ll connect, wrestle with big ideas, solve dilemmas, play games, establish friendships and seek and share wisdom.
In modern times, with people working from home, hypnotised by the light of their screens, people are feeling more and more isolated. However, this is still just a choice. We don’t have to stay how we are. Attending this Meet Up event may be the first step in your becoming the version of you you’d prefer to be.
About myself: My name’s Luke Gray and for over a decade I’ve tried to break into the TV industry as a Comedy writer, specifically writing sitcoms. I’ve got an agent, even had a script optioned, but – by and large, I’ve fallen short. I still believe in myself and my work but for whatever reason, the opportunity to prove myself hasn’t quite come along. I can either stop trying and jump into some office job somewhere, or I can keep writing, keep trying to get my work seen and keep conjuring new potential paths to my success.
The thought that scares me the most isn’t ‘what I don’t make it’, no – the thought that absolutely petrifies me is ‘what if I could?’
