What we’re about
We love the flexibility of working from home, but we know how isolating and lonely that can be. Come join a welcoming indoor/outdoor co-working space that has a relaxed coffee shop vibe but with more of a community feel, a place where you’re known and can greet each other by name. Think of this as a space where you can come and focus on work, but also have as a launch pad to make new friends that you can get to know after work too.
We’d also love to showcase local artists and host pop-up shops—so if you are one, have one, or know one, please let us know!

Sometimes summer can feel a bit stale or even lonely—it can seem like everyone else has travel plans! Or maybe summer conjures up images of cookouts and hangouts but you're not sure who else is around or up for adventure. But you can mix it up this summer right from your own neighborhood, as we'll be hosting monthly worship services this summer on Second Sundays, followed by a cookout in our courtyard. This is a great way to meet new people, connect with God, and either deepen or explore faith.
An important disclaimer before we describe Sundays to you:
If you joined the Neighborhood for our service projects, community gatherings, and/or coworking, it's important to us that you know those spaces and Meetups are designed to be safe places for people of any background and any belief system. Because of this, we won't proselytize you or pressure you to talk about our faith—though we are ALWAYS happy to hear your thoughts and answer any questions you have. Very rarely, our faith will come up in conversation when it's relevant, but only when it provides helpful context. We want everyone to feel safe, honored, and respected in these spaces—so much so that we went back-and-forth on whether to even post about these monthly summer services in this group at all. Ultimately, we wanted to make sure anyone who might be interested knew that they were invited!
But if a worship service isn't your cup of tea, no worries, we get that—we've actually been there. We hope you decide to stay in this group and enjoy the other community gatherings we organize, without fear that they are weirdly pressurized religious spaces. And the good news is, while our worship services will of course be faith-forward, we're also designing them to be accessible to anyone who is interested in exploring or growing in the Christian faith—aka ALSO not weirdly pressurized.
What will Sundays look like?
As a new church, we have focused on building community and relationships, so that when we start a weekly worship service later this fall, everyone will know that they are welcome and wanted. If you’re curious about Jesus, new to church, or have been disconnected from the church for a long time, you will find a place to plug in, with a style of service that is accessible, thought-provoking, and honoring. If you’re searching for a church family where you can use your God-given gifts to become more like Jesus, you’ll also find a home here, to grow, be transformed, and to serve. You’ll also get to experience the joy of seeing others respond to God—perhaps for the very first time!
We will orient our Spirit-led service around the Christian Scriptures, with a spaciousness that allows us to respond to God as he speaks with us.
Together we will engage ancient and modern practices, which will include participating in communion every week. We will also share original music and liturgy that we write for our neighborhood, as well as classic hymns and historic prayers that have been giving people around the world hope and meaning for centuries.Community cookout
We plan to follow every summer service with a community meal, where people can continue to connect around the table. Even though we’re grateful for the way tech improves our lives, we also know it can’t replace in-person interactions. There’s nothing like being with friends in real life.
So each week, we’ll have questions that we can discuss together over a meal, questions about what stood out to us in the service, and what’s going on in our lives. We’ll have the opportunity to get to know new people, and also get to experience being known. Together, we’ll create a safe space—whether you’re an extrovert or introvert, whether you want to go deep or are more comfortable listening than speaking, you are welcome here!Of course, behind the scenes and beforehand, there will be people serving the community who want to help prepare and set up meals, greet people as they come in, run slides and sound, sing and play instruments, and more. If that’s you, let us know—a church service is a reflection of a church body, and takes many committed folks to make it possible!
A little more about us:
West Valley Neighborhood Church is a new church plant (i.e. a startup!) and we are planning on launching a weekly service this fall. This summer is a good time to get a "sneak preview" of the community that is building here. To learn more about us, check out our website wvneighborhoodchurch.org, or our socials (we're on IG and Facebook as @wvneighborhoodchurch, but IG tends to be a bit more updated). - Second Sunday Summer Worship Service & Cookout6191 Bollinger Rd, Cupertino, CA
