Welcome to The Leominster Area Connection!

Hi everyone! I have opened a sister group, "The Gardner Area Connection". My plan is to merge the two groups by 1/2026. I have a new job that is far more demanding than I anticipated and I'm finding that I don't have as much time as I did before to maintain this group. I live closer to Gardner so it will also be easier for me to maintain in that way--particularly for week night events. The Gardner Area Connection will still have posts for live music, at Chopsticks, mostly--because I love to dance on Friday night and I need to get that energy out! But things like trivia events will likely move to locations a bit west of Leominster because of my time commitments. The Leominster Area Connection will remain open through the rest of this year. At this time, The Gardner Area Connection is not asking for membership dues to cover the $400.00 annual subscription charge to me. So go ahead and sign up there and you can attend those groups too. :)

This is the group for you if….
You want to meet people and make new friends with people living in the area. All people over 40 are welcome. This is not a dating group, it is a social group, but if you are looking to meet people, this is a great way to do it. If you’re sitting at home wishing you were out and about, sign up for an event and join us! We do dozens of varied activities throughout the year including dancing, cocktails, live music, dinner events, wine tastings, museum days, brewery hops…get it...hops…just checking to see if you’re paying attention…, karaoke, local community gatherings, Woo Sox games, line dancing lessons, hiking, a book club, trivia nights, beach days, excursions to Boston, Worcester, and beyond. We sometimes throw in last minute events if we find something fun to do and there’s nothing else on the calendar.
We are an inclusive and welcoming group. All members should feel safe, welcomed and included at every event. This is the #1 value of this group.
In response to members' interests, we are adding arts and crafts events, movie nights, bowling nights, music trivia nights, potlucks, a potential pool party, adult "prom" and more! We are in contact with other social Meetup groups in the vicinity for combined and cross-posted activities. More to come on that in the spring.
A couple of lessons learned in the past two years include: No politics. Just don’t. :) Please be considerate with your RSVPs and especially with last minute cancellations. It can impact the way our venues prepare to host us. Be mindful if you date a group member that it doesn’t become a group problem.
