What we’re about

Welcome to "Thought-Provoking and Awareness Lesbian Group" a new group created on the 1st of January 2024. Please note that this group is exclusively for female born individuals who are lesbian or bisexual.

Darwin said "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge"

With this in mind, no topics is off bounds...

Katy (the founder of the group) is passionate about exploring deep philosophical and existentialist ideas. Inspired by the wisdom imparted in Anthony de Mello's influential book "Awareness," the group’s aim is to engage in thought-provoking discussions, challenge societal belief, and foster understanding of human behaviour.

This group is not for the faint hearted or the prone to be offended. We will discuss needs, dependency, labels, love, desire, control, bullying, kindness, happiness, illusions and many other topics that may challenge one’s belief’s system.

If you are interested in personal growth join, if you are interested in sharing your views, if you interested in expanding your world… join!

There is a small fee of £8 for the year to join this group . I hope this is ok with you. This fee is not a mean to make money, it is there for two reasons: lessen the financial burden on me (MeetUp.com charges a great deal to create a group on their platform) and it is also to incite commitment from the group's members. They are too many people out there who join hundreds of groups and don't attend any of their events.

During our zoom events, our motto will be:

Let's not make a point of winning a stance on a topic but to eloquently be able to explain our own point of view concisely and on topic. Note: A couple of days before any particular event's, each attending members will be sent a message asking for a couple for short sentences with key thoughts on their personal views on the topic - a great way to see what has been discovered after the event!

Goals:

  1. Philosophical Exploration: Delve into the profound realms of philosophy, contemplating existentialism, ethics, consciousness, and the nature of reality.
  2. Analyzing Human Behavior: Understand the intricacies of human behavior, emotions, and the factors shaping our perspectives in a supportive and insightful environment.
  3. Challenging Societal Concepts: Engage in critical discussions to challenge conventional norms and beliefs, encouraging open-mindedness and growth.
