ADDENDUM: THE EVENT COSTS $47. Please read the entire event before RSVPing. It is necessary to RSVP and pay at the same time. Instructions follow below.
COME AWAY to relax before the holiday season kicks into high gear.
Arrive at Trimble Park when you can between 4 and 7 PM, set up camp then unwind around the campfire with Chili, Corn Bread (and Drinks) prepared by Trail Homies.
THE GROUP CAMPSITE: the peninsula is exclusive to Trail Homies until Sunday morning with a bathhouse, a canopy of oak trees and a dock with a view of the stars over Lake Beauclair and Lake Carlton (car-camping at its finest), so bring what makes you comfortable.
SATURDAY MORNING: ride three miles down a country road to Mt Dora for breakfast; explore the north shore of Lake Dora: sit down in a cool bike shop with a great culture, food and drinks.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON: do what you want - eat, shop, stroll. Enjoy the decorations and the Christmas tree on Fourth and Alexander.
AFTER DINNER: dinner together, then roll back to camp before dusk. More relaxing or games around the campfire. Stargaze on the dock.
SUNDAY MORNING: leave when you wish. Check out is at Noon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TO KEEP COSTS SIMPLE, everyone will pay for their own meals, drinks, etc. on Saturday in Mt. Dora.
BRING WITH YOU:
Friday & Saturday Nights - drinks and whatever else you wish for after dinner, i.e., a mug and makings for hot drinks, a chair, etc.
Saturday - money for all meals and personal spending in town.
Sunday - whatever "high-octane" food and drink you require to wake up.
TRAIL HOMIES WILL PROVIDE Chili and Brats for Friday night, firewood for both nights and a canister stove that will help with heating up water for those who enjoy hot drinks.
PARKING: the one complication - Trimble Park has only ten parking spots for a group campsite that allows 50 campers. ("Do they expect us to arrive in a bus?") Trail Homies is setting a 20-person limit, so arriving first is the first option. The second option is to park at Publix (6551 Orange Blossom Trail, Highway 441 in Mt. Dora) and ride your bike the 3.8 miles to the group campsite. The third option is to carpool with someone from Publix.
THE DEADLINE for Reservations is 11:59 PM on Sunday, Nov 10th on this Event Page OR when there are no more spots open.
THE COST for the event is $47 ($20 is nonrefundable upon canceling) per person. Anyone can bring three guests.
