Level: Intermediate.
Improve your short form games to shine on stage! You’ll learn new games, you will increase your improv toolbox and learn to captivate your audience with interesting and diverse games and scenes. Play bold characters, different genres, learn to find the funny in short games. Emma has organised and MC’d 500+ shows and will tell you all about how to work with an audience.

Level: intermediate. It is advised that you first do the courses Beginners 1 and 2, including show experience.

For whom: intermediate: at least 1 intermediate course and experience in show performing. This is especially good if you want to improve your stage performance.

Teacher Emma Holmes
The trainer Emma Holmes is specialised in Improv, Stand-up Comedy and Storytelling. Emma has a sharp eye for how you can become a pleasant co-player for the other players. You will learn how you don’t have to act funny, but let the fun evolve from the story (finding the game). You will learn to be silly, out of your comfort zone without fear of failing, Presentation skills, active listening skills. And much more.

This course by Burgert is sold out. There are still tickets for burgert’s Wedne dat course and for the same course Beginners plus by Emma, same day.

More games, more improv skills! You will continue with yes-and, listening, enjoy failing. And we will add platform, relationships, status and improv singing.

For whom: beginners who have some basic skills, eg. 1 course. Intermediates are also welcome. We end the course with a show.

More about the facilitator:
Burgert is an Organisational Psychologist who specializes in fostering adaptive, innovative, and integrated behaviour within teams and organizations. His Master’s research on improvisational theatre practices to foster work group innovation was published in the SA Journal for Industrial Psychology*. He has completed several courses certified by the international coach Federation on individual and team coaching
Burgert has led workshops on leadership, team innovation, and collaborative creativity at top South African business schools, major companies and international conferences.
He studied improv at the IO theater in Chicago and was part of South Africa’s longest running Afrikaans Improv group, Lagnes.

Level: advanced
Join Steven Morgan for an in-depth exploration of the Superscene format. This advanced course dives deep into crafting rich, layered characters and creating dynamic relationships that drive compelling narratives. Through focused exercises and expert guidance, you'll hone your ability to build meaningful connections and adapt seamlessly to the evolving structure of a Superscene.

For whom: advanced level: preferably 2 intermediate courses and experience in show performing. Perfect for experienced improvisers looking to elevate their storytelling and character development skills to new heights.
