See all- Service Design: The Stuff You Didn’t Know Was DesignedCHN - Room CHN E 46 – 70 Plätze, Zürich
Most people don’t realize how much of their daily life is shaped by services—until something goes wrong. From booking a doctor’s appointment to navigating public transport or renewing a residence permit, we’re constantly interacting with systems that someone, somewhere, designed—or didn’t. In this talk, we’ll take a closer look at what a service really is and how Service Design helps uncover hidden pain points, shape better interactions, and build more humane systems. You’ll leave seeing the world just a little differently—and spotting design where you least expected it.
About the Speaker
Nadejda Cervinscaia is a service designer with a global footprint and a love for sticky notes, sharpies, and systems thinking. Born in the poetic chaos of post-Soviet Moldova, she’s worked across China, Sweden, Italy, and Switzerland—co-designing everything from circular fashion strategies at H&M to community care ecosystems in Milan. With a background in Service Design and over 7 years of experience in innovation, she believes in building solutions with people, not just for them. Her hands-on approach often involves cardboard, co-creation, and the occasional diagram no one asked for. Nadejda is particularly inspired by the ideas behind Doughnut Economics and passionate about designing futures that are both fair and flourishing. Her work has been recognized across sectors including social impact, healthcare, and cultural heritage.💬 The Talk is in English
