Greetings, adventurers! Dust off your whips, strap on your satchels, and join us for this month's (well, December and January’s) epic pick: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This pulse-pounding adventure was crafted by MachineGames, the same geniuses behind the Wolfenstein series. Nazis, explosions, and ancient relics? These folks were practically born to make an Indiana Jones game!
And the pedigree doesn’t stop there. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas themselves lent their magic to the game, ensuring it’s bursting with cinematic flair and all the Indy charm we know and love. To top it off, our whip-wielding hero is voiced by none other than Troy Baker—yep, the same guy who played Joel in The Last of Us last month. From saving Ellie to running from boulders, this man really gets around.
The game is set one year after Raiders of the Lost Ark, dropping you into a brand-new adventure filled with booby traps, exotic locales, and probably more snakes than anyone asked for. Haven’t watched the movies yet? Now’s your excuse—call it “research”!
Here’s what you need to know:
Playtime: Around 20 hours if you stick to the golden path and avoid the siren call of side quests (but seriously, how do you not explore every ancient tomb you stumble across?).
Platforms: Available on Game Pass for PC and console—a steal for treasure hunters on a budget.
As we play, let’s ask ourselves the big question: Does this game capture the magic of the Indiana Jones movies? Does it make you want to don a fedora and yell “It belongs in a museum!” in public?
While embarking on this daring escapade, be sure to show your favorite in-game moments! Share your screenshots, funny fails, or triumphant victories in our game discussion channel—but please, keep the spoilers as rare as an un-pillaged artifact. Oh, and if you’re feeling adventurous, bring your favorite fedora to the meetup. No judgment if it doesn’t fit quite like Indy’s; it’s the thought that counts. Just kidding by the way.
We’ll meet to discuss the game on Tuesday, January 14th at 7:00 PM at Dunedin Brewery in downtown Dunedin. Expect cold craft beer, lively discussion, and maybe a whip-crackingly good time (please don’t actually bring a whip; Dunedin Brewery has rules).
Happy holidays, everyone! Let’s end 2024 (and kick off 2025) with a bang—err, I mean, an epic adventure!
Remember that this isn't a private scheduled event. Please be respectful and patient to the staff while we're there. Keep in mind that the Brewery closes at 9:00 on Tuesdays. Will be meeting in the outside area right in the front. Cheers & let's have a good time 🥂
