Welcome to the Wayne Web Accessibility Meetup Group!
Our group is dedicated to discussing technology trends, web development practices, and social networking strategies for web accessibility and those disabled that rely on digital accessibility for engagement.
Fact: Between 16% and 25% of people have a disability, globally and in the US (depending on study and parameters). Vision and hearing are top challenges, but many other conditions are subject to information barriers we can help remove by understanding the issues.
Group admin is a Certified 508 Trusted Tester, trainer, content creator and digital accessibility advocate. Discussions to advance knowledge and help Wayne (and beyond) further digital accessibility awareness and encourage implementation for business and residents.
Web Accessibility is not only the law (Section 508 and American Disability Act / ADA) but adds positive social impact and helps bottom lines. Whether a seasoned professional, business owner, resident, policy maker, part of the disabled community, or just new to the field, let's work together to create a more inclusive and accessible community (and world) for all!
Admin will endeavor to make this virtual group meet accessibility guidelines, of course!
