What we’re about
This group will meet to discuss one of the weird movies on the 366 Weird Movies List and Apocrypha (https://366weirdmovies.com/the-weird-movie-list/).
For now, the idea is to watch the movie on your own and then come to the meeting to discuss it. Maybe down the road we can have screenings of the movies on the list that are especially fun to see with a crowd, like "Hausu" or the bizarrely bad ones ("The Apple," "Death Bed," "After Last Season," etc.)
See this spreadsheet for information about the 366 Weird Movies List and Apocrypha, including where you can find the movies streaming (though lots of that information is out of date.) 366 Weird Movies + Apocrypha: streaming info last updated 5/24/21 - Google Sheets

See all- "Donnie Darko" Discussion: Watch it at Home FirstPryes Brewing Company, Minneapolis, MN
Let's get together to discuss the cult favorite "Donnie Darko." Watch the movie on your own and come ready to chat about it.
We're going back to Pryes Brewing, which has lots of space and isn't very noisy. It's near downtown Minneapolis but has plenty of parking. I'll get there around 6:30 p.m. and claim a table on the upper floor. Get a drink and then head up the stairs near the main entrance. You'll be able to identify me by my baseball cap that says "Weird Movie Club" on it.
And feel free to recommend another movie on the 366 Weird Movies List for a future meeting: 366 Weird Movies + Apocrypha: streaming info last updated 5/24/21 - Google Sheets.
- "Hundreds of Beavers" Screening and DiscussionSaint Paul Public Library - George Latimer Central Library, Saint Paul, MN
Join us to watch and then discuss "Hundreds of Beavers," the independent Wisconsin-made comedy that has become a sort of underground phenomenon.
I'll get to the library at 1:30 p.m. and try to set everything up in time for a 2 p.m. start. Get there early so you don't miss a minute. The library closes at 5, so we'll have to wrap up discussion before then. There might not be much to discuss with this one, but you never know.
It's all free. We'll be in the Andy Boss Community Room on the 4th floor of the George Latimer Public Library in downtown St. Paul.
Street parking is free on Sundays, but it can still be hard to find parking sometimes. You might consider using the light rail. A great place to park and ride is the Western Avenue stop of the green line. There's always parking on Aurora Avenue, one street south of University.

Naomi will be leading the discussion for her choice, the fascinating, funny, and many-layered "Sorry to Bother You." Watch the movie on your own and come ready to chat about it.

- See "The Holy Mountain" at Home & See "Doggiewogiez! Poochiewoochiez!" TogetherSaint Paul Public Library - George Latimer Central Library, Saint Paul, MN
I'd like to try something different for this one. Here's what you'll have to do:
- Watch the ne plus ultra of weird movies, "The Holy Mountain," on your own.
- Come to the library on June 22 and watch "Doggiewogiez! Poochiewoochiez!" as a group.
- Then we'll all discuss both movies.
See, "Doggiewogiez! Poochiewoochiez!" is a 55-minute remake of "The Holy Mountain" made of clips from movies and TV shows about dogs. It doesn't make much sense, but it makes even less sense if you haven't recently seen "The Holy Mountain."
