Regular walks and exercise free the mind and the spirit. Problems unwind and find solutions – endorphins release happiness, which makes you feel good. It’s easy to have great well-being, walks in a safe environment – meet new friends and gain confidence.
Take some well-deserved time out to reinvigorate both body and soul and join us on some of our favourite well-being walks in the Peak District.

Cafes Costa King street and Belper River gardensA walk suitable for all abilities, their are some hill climbs but nothing too demanding. The walk offers a change to explore the Derwent valley and surrounding ancient tracks and highways whilst offering superb views of the local countryside and the historic Mill town of Belper - famous for Richard Arkwright's cotton mill one of many along the Derwent valley with its abundant source of water power to power the cotton mills. Learn the history of Belper nailers and Jedidiah Strutt's links to the cotton and hosiery industry.

Join us on November 4th for a peer-led walk organized by BMC Peak Area volunteers, in the beautiful Peak District.
This walk will be led by local BMC volunteer Bev England. Thank you for your interest in our walk; we’re looking forward to a fantastic day together!
We will embark on a social hill walk from Gradbach, with the planned route taking in Lud’s Church, The Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks. This 10 miles walk offers BMC members, their families, friends, and anyone interested in the organization's work an opportunity to experience a fabulous walk with the potential for some great views.### Booking a place

Public Transport Timetables:
· Community Transport dial-a-ride the Moorlands Connect service operates on a Monday.
What to Bring:
· Appropriate clothing for a day walking in the hills and remote moorland
· Food and drink for a full day, plus treats for the walk leaders!
· Walking footwear, preferably water-resistant with grippy soles
· Layers of clothing, including waterproofs, as weather can change quickly
· Hat and gloves
· Sufficient food and water for the day (no opportunities to buy refreshments)
· A small torch or head torch for emergencies
· A small personal first aid kit and any medication(s).
Return:
We aim to return by approximately 3.30 PM, with opportunity for a post-walk debrief.
Participant Information:
This walk is open to BMC members, accompanying friends and family, and anyone interested in BMC’s work. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Due to restricted access land, dogs are not allowed on this walk.
All participants must book in advance via Eventbrite.
Please do not attend if you have COVID-19 or are feeling unwell.
Health Considerations:
If you have health issues that might affect your ability to complete the walk safely, inform us in advance. Carry any necessary medications and inform the leader where they are located if needed.

Offering a blend of serene waterside paths and exhilarating uphill challenges, including a scramble up the Birchen Clough waterfall, this route promises an adventure through the heart of Saddleworth Moor.
