What we’re about
Welcome to our Meetup group. It's for people who’d like to take part in social activities on a regular basis, meet new friends and lead an active social life.
We aim to discover unique and unusual local activities and events, together with regular, more traditional Meetups like pub nights, meals, cinema/theatre, live music, semi-guided walks etc. Our aim is to compliment activities to your own social calendars.
We welcome new ideas and always encourage members to share with us your thoughts for future events.
Some events will be free and some we ask members make a small contribution to help cover Meetup costs. (Sadly it’s not a free service to the Organisers!)
In addition, we ask that all members keep in mind the fact that our Event Organisers are hosting their events completely voluntarily, in their own time and we need to make the events as straightforward as possible for them to run. The absolute basic requirement of all members is therefore to ensure that you keep your RSVPs up to date. If you put your name down to attend an event and later cannot make it, you need to be fair to all parties involved and click on ‘Edit your RSVP’ to ‘Not going’ ahead of the event. Try not to leave it to the last minute if possible as there will quite often be people on a waiting list wanting to go, should a place become available.
The most important thing about this group is to feel safe, relaxed, included and above all, have fun 😇
Risk Disclaimer:
Please note that all members take part in all activities solely at their own risk, should any personal loss, accident, illness or physical injury occur during an event.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Woburn Deer & Safari Park Walk 🦌Woburn Car Park, MK17 9PX£2.00
This is a brand new walk that Don and I recce’d last week. We will definitely see more animals, but because (some say greedy) Woburn have now rerouted the little adjacent lane, it may be hit and miss on the day.
We leave @ 10:30am prompt from the free Park Street car park, Woburn MK17 9PX The group will not be waiting for anyone who is not on time 🚙
From the car park the walk heads East to enter the Deer Park 🦌 for a good couple of miles to go through a wood and pass by the entrance to the Safari Park 🐘🐃🐐🦒🦧 We hope to see some animals en route to a stretch that heads South and crosses a field past Go Ape 🦍 to join a road that eventually leaves the estate at Crawley Lodge 🏦 and heads towards Aspley Guise. A long Bridle path 🐴 then passes through Birchmoor Green which follows back to Woburn and for those that want to, frequent a brand new pub, Longs Inn 🍺☕️🍟
6 miles and will take roughly 2.5-3 hrs.NB: Cost is £2 due to increased Meet Up subscription. Please pay on the day or preferably beforehand via this link: [https://www.paypal.me/aac007?locale.x=en_GB](https://www.paypal.me/aac007?locale.x=en_GB) Please choose friends & family option only
If you enjoy the event we encourage participants to add a message and/or pictures after, on the past events page. Other members can and do read them, which gives them an idea of future events.
NB: This is not the stars review that Meet Up ask you for. Only organisers and Meet Up see those comments 📸 👍🏻If you are unable to attend for any reason please ensure you change your RSVP to not going. Not doing this results in holding up everybody else, which is unfair on all. My contact number is 07376 796266
NB: This event is not led by a qualified leader, or covered by insurance. Please wear suitable footwear 🥾 and clothing. The organisers cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety (including fluids, weather protection and a snack).
- On ya bike! Our first one of 2025 🚲Three Blackbirds, HP1 1NR£2.00
People love our bike rides 🚴🏼♂️ They’ve been great fun to date.
All levels welcome as we’ll just get out there. The very experienced Jeremy is leading us and has a gentle starter route in mind, (I’ve recce’d most of it) which is not too demanding and will be on and off road, so please be mindful of that. Distance is 16 miles, so will not be taxing 😊
We’ll more then likely end up at a lovely country pub somewhere for libations too 🥤🍺🍹
We meet on the moor opposite the Three Blackbirds 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛ pub (HP1 1NR) at 12:50 and will leave at 13:00 🕐

- Mayday Bank Holiday Walk 🎊Three Blackbirds, HP1 1NR£2.00
Join us for a scenic bank holiday walk, with fantastic views, at an easy going pace.
We will leave @ 10:30 prompt from the church seat, opposite the Three Blackbirds pub HP1 1NR. Please allow 15 mins to park. Free on street parking anywhere near. Check signs.
Lee, landlord of the pub, has said you can use his car park if coming into the pub after. They have a number plate registration screen. The group will not be waiting for anyone who is not on time 🚙From the church we walk across the moor and up across the railway tracks 🚂 to Roughdown common. Magnificent views from up there. We’ll saunter our way through some shaded tracks to cross a field, eventually reaching Bovingdon Church ⛪️ Then trek the Old Roman Road down to an enclosed wood 🪵 all the way to the newly formed Boxmoor Trust trail. Then head towards the canal and back to our rendezvous point. Maybe have a Mayday drink and nibbles when we’re back 🍺🍷🫚
The walk will take roughly 2.5-3 hrs and is approx 6.5-7 miles.
