What we’re about
We are a 20s to 40s group set up to cater for the demand of younger walkers looking for people to walk with who are of more their own age. Our members are scattered over a large area in the Midlands. As far south as Malvern and as far north as Lichfield, however most of us live in Birmingham and surrounding areas. New members are always welcome.
Please check out our website for full information about our walks and events, and how to contact us. We are a Ramblers group that has been going for almost 20 years, and you'll generally find that there are more people on our walks than have signed up here!
Most of us are not on Meetup so it's best to use email (see event details) for contacting walk leaders. Your comments and direct messages are monitored by only one volunteer and not always seen in time. You can find the email adresses in the walk descriptions.
You can turn up to walks without the need to ‘book on'. However, we limit numbers of Meetup joiners to 20, as a little reminder that our walk leaders are volunteers and not always comfortable with managing very large groups. Please also note that we only put a selection of our walks and socials on here - there is more going on with the group and you can find this on our website.
*******
Ramblers information: Newcomers are welcome to join us for a couple of walks to decide if the group is for them or not. After that we ask that you join the group by joining the Ramblers - the UK's largest charity which aims to represent the interests of walkers and that we are part of. The Ramblers goal is to protect the ability of people to enjoy the sense of freedom and benefits that come from being outdoors on foot. It's an association of people and groups who come together to both enjoy walking and other outdoor pursuits and also to ensure that the infrastructure and places people go walking are protected and enhanced. You can read more about the Ramblers work here.
You can join the Ramblers online. By joining you will become part of Britain's biggest walking community and help to support the charitable work of the Ramblers. You will also be emailed a pdf copy of our full programme, which includes contact details for all our walk leaders as well as those organising weekends away and socials. From the Ramblers you will also receive:
• full access to Ramblers Routes online library;
• four issues of Walk magazine a year;
• access to the Ramblers extensive map library;
• a discretionary 15% discount at Cotswold Outdoor; and
• a range of other offers from the Ramblers partners.
If you'd like to sign up to our weekly email or have any other questions about the group then please send an email to [wmwg.info@googlemail.com](mailto:wmwg.info@googlemail.com).
