What we’re about
WSTM is a passionate theater group that meets monthly to delve into the vibrant live theater scene of the Chicago Western Suburbs. Our primary goal is to watch the shows that you're most excited about and immerse ourselves in an enjoyable experience while forging new friendships.
Whether you're a first-time attendee or a seasoned theater enthusiast, you'll find a warm welcome among us.
Theater is a deeply personal encounter, and what captivates one person might not resonate with another. That's why we invite a few of our members to gather for a post-play discussion over drinks, sharing our diverse experiences and perspectives.
If you're involved in a stage production or have a recommendation for a performance that our West Suburban Theatre Meetup participants would appreciate, please feel free to message me with the details. We're always open to exploring new theatrical endeavors!

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
Music & Lyrics by William Finn
Book by Rachel Sheinkin Conceived by Rebecca Feldman
Additional material by Jay Reiss
https://paramountaurora.com/events/the-25th-annual-putnam-county-spelling-bee/It’s a battle of wits as six contestants vie for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime in this hilarious musical. Everyone loves a coming-of-age tale. Combine that with the epic struggles of six underdogs competing to shine in their own sport, and you have The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee — a relatable musical that sheds a humorous light on adolescents growing up under the pressure to excel. Rife with themes of competition, identity, and alienation, it’s the perfect nostalgic comedy.
Whether you were a band kid, or a cheerleader, middle school angst is a memory everyone can relate to. Chances are you will recognize one of the six types in yourself: the perfectionist, the loner, the kid whose parents are unavailable, the imposter, the sensitive one, and the overachiever. There might only be one champion, but at what cost to all of the rest who aim to conquer?
Entertaining tunes include “I’m Not That Smart,” “Pandemonium,” “Woe Is Me” and of course, “The I Love You Song.” The catchy tunes, witty lyrics, and endearing characters create an entertaining and heartwarming theatrical experience for all, even the overachievers and spelling-challenged among us. Two-time Tony Award winner including Best Book.
Embrace your inner nerd!

Greenman Theatre Troupe is looking for a new space. In the meantime they are offering something a little different from their usual productions. Thought it would be fun to check out and give us a chance to see the museum. Would be great to meet beforehand at a nearby restaurant. I will schedule something separately.
