What we’re about
This group is for people 50+ who would like to participate in intelligent, educated, pleasant conversation over casual restaurant dinners. For this group it’s as much about the conversation as the food.
Conversation will be casual, but might include topics such as science, psychology, current events, social issues, foreign films, the arts, fiction & non-fiction reading. And we’ll aim for a varied mix of restaurants.
We'll also schedule events such as World film discussion; Article discussion & Coffee; and Bocce during warm weather.
Events will usually take place on the Westside & its suburbs.
===========
If you’re interested in applying to the group, there must be a realistic, recognizable, fairly up-to-date photo. Please answer a few questions when you click on the ‘request to join’ button.
We look forward to hearing from you!

See all- Film Discussion - Halloween EditionThai Basil, Lake Oswego, OR
These film events are for discussion of a film from the world at large. This means that most of the films we watch will be "foreign" or in some sense off the beaten path. All attendees should watch the film on their own sometime beforehand.
So the group will be welcomed back to the places we meet, we kindly ask that all attendees order a drink or something to eat from the menu (with a charge please, not just a glass of water). Thanks...
==========
For this event let’s meet at Thai Basil in Lake Oswego at 6:30 pm.
https://www.thaibasilcuisine.com/🧌 The film this round has been specially selected for Halloween.
It’s been described as Fantasy/Horror/Mystery & Thriller/Romance. 🧌“Border is a 2018 Swedish film directed by Ali Abbasi with a screenplay by Abbasi, Isabella Eklöf and John Ajvide Lindqvist based on the short story of the same name by Lindqvist. It won the Un Certain Regard award at the Cannes Film Festival, and was selected as the Swedish entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.”

- Oregon Olive Oil ExcursionDurant Vineyards Tasting Room, Dayton, OR
Karen, one of our members, has suggested this event. Durant Farms (near Dundee, a bit southwest of Portland) raises olives for oil. During the harvest of these olives - for the Olio Nuovo/new oil - they offer a free, brief tour of their facility.
The farm also has other paid events which you can check out on their website. But we’ll just plan to do the complimentary olive oil making tour, and then browse the farm and grab a coffee or something to eat from one of the venders in the Food Pavilion.https://durantoregon.com/olio-nuovo/
