What weโre about
Looking for something to do? Want to meet new people, and socialize?
- You must have a profile picture with a clear view of your face and use your real first name to join. (You're photo must be of you, not a pic of just your pet, not an abstract art pic, etc.)
- To keep the riff-raff out, THIS GROUP HAS DUES! Message me if you want to pay via Paypal instead of Meetup. Dues are NOT refundable! (NOTE: Meetup takes 7.5% +.50 cents when you pay via Meetup, reducing the amount I get to apply to the $300 annual organizer fee. To better support keeping dues down, pay cash in person or via PayPal)
- April 25, 2025 NOTE: The Dues structure will be changing soon, dues will go up to $4 per year for people who sign up in May 2025 or later. For those who have paid dues, the path to becoming "Dues Waived" moving forward will be to attend at least 4 events per year (after Dues Paid) or successfully Host an Event once a year. At some point, at my discretion, those who are Dues Waived and have not attended an Event in over a year will be moved back to the Dues Required (Awaiting Dues) category (we don't need any Watchers in this group!). Dues Waived members can also voluntarily donate $ to support the group fees.
- After your trial period ends, if Dues aren't paid then Meetup will automatically drop you from the group and any events you registered for (you are put into "Awaiting Dues" status). To re-join and attend events you have to pay the Dues. Seven days and one day before a person's trial expires, Meetup will send a reminder to pay. No point in signing up for an event which occurs after your trial period if you have no intention of paying Dues!
- To check your dues status:
- click on your profile picture then
- under WYGTYA! group click "Membership Details".
- EVENTS AND POLICIES
- Events in this group will be focused on doing things in Cuyahoga County and the surrounding areas. Yes, we are mostly West side focused because that's where most of our members and I are based, but we do occasionally venture to the East side. Want more events on the East side? Offer to host!
- Volunteers to host events are welcomed, as long as the events do not violate any Meetup policies, and are safe and ethical events.
- No discussion of politics or other divisive topics. Keep things friendly!
- Bad behavior at any event, in chats, in comments, or with organizer/event hosts will result in immediate removal and you will be banned from re-joining.
- If you RSVP you are expected to show up. If something comes up and you can't make it, it is super easy to just change your RSVP! See the Attendance Policy below
- You join and attend events at your own risk, and AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Meetup, the group organizer, and the event hosts from any loss, liability, damage or cost, including court costs and attorney's fees, that they may incur due to your participation in said activity, WHETHER CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise.
- ATTENDANCE POLICY
- If there is a Wait List, Members and Trial Members in Good Standing will be given priority. Good Standing means you do not have a chronic history of No Shows, or very Late Dropping out. People with a history of No Shows, Very Late, and/or Chronic Late Dropping Out will be moved to the Wait List (if you haven't already been removed from the group!).
- Dues are NOT refundable, unless this group is dissolved within 3 months of paying your dues. Make sure you want to be in/stay in this group before you pay dues. Not attending any events is NOT a justifiable reason for requesting a dues refund, and dues will NOT be refunded. Violating a group policy which ends up in being removed from the group is NOT a justifiable reason for requesting a dues refund, and dues will NOT be refunded. Leaving the group after paying dues is NOT a justifiable reason for requesting a dues refund, and dues will NOT be refunded. The only time dues will be refunded is if this group is dissolved within 3 months of paying your dues.
- The supplemental Facebook group is ONLY FOR FULL MEMBERS (not in Trial Period). Answer the join questions and click on each rule to agree when you submit your join request to the Facebook page
THANKS, AND NOW LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!
