About Wilmington Chess Club: The chess club is a publicly visible group in Meetup, however, this group is private and is run by the organizers. The goal of this group is solely intended for learning and playing chess with other members regardless of age, sex, background, and lifestyle choices.
Club Rules:
- Members should have an identifiable photo and their username be their first name or preferred name. This is important for other members and organizers to know who to look for.
- Individual members should RSVP to an event and if their plans change, please update your plans to “not going”. Individuals with 3 or more “no show” will be removed from the group. This is important as head counts help organizers to decide when and where to schedule events. Extenuating circumstances are an exception to the “no show” rule.
- The organizers expect individuals joining this group to respect other members, and behave following a basic code of civility and conduct. We have members from different backgrounds and age groups and expect the atmosphere to be welcoming and conducive to everyone. The organizers take any inappropriate behavior very seriously, and individuals disrupting the normal discourse of this group will be banned from this club.
