What's the purpose of the group?
A social group for non-mums to meet up with like-minded women.
A bit like casually catching up at the school gates - just without the school gates, or a good chinwag at a toddler play group - just without any toddlers.
Who should join?
Anyone who:
- identifies as a woman
- lives in and around Witney
- isn't a parent
This welcoming group open to all non-mums, whatever your reason or motivation for not having children. Whilst most of the group members are in their mid 30s upwards, we welcome childfree women of all ages.
What will you do at your events?
This will be a group for socialising so we will do things like going to coffee/drinks, quiz nights, meals, attending local events, and sharing each others interests.
WhatsApp group
We do have a WhatsApp group which you can join where members can chat and arrange to meet up, and we do have a few informal get togethers that are organised via WhatsApp rather than on Meetup so please do contact the organiser to request to join this.
Do you have to pay to join this group?
It costs up to £180 per year to use Meetup to run our group. While we don't want to charge fees for attending events, we also don't want one person to have to pay this themselves. This year we have split the cost between a few regulars in the group in order to continue using Meetup as we think it's a great way for new women to find us.
Going forward we would like to find a fairer way to split the cost, for example asking all group members to contribute if they attend two meetups, and want to come to more. We welcome feedback from the group about this - please either message the organiser or put a message in the group discussion. Thank you!
